Entrance

Hi! I present to you a sketch and a finished illustration that I made recently. I started sketching to find an interesting composition. The gate motif caught my attention. The vertical format encourages you to look for a dynamic composition, even with static content. To work, I had to look for photos of winter landscapes for a reference. When working with the environment, this is an important stage. To render the image, I used a texture brush and a regular round brush.

From the very beginning, the sketch referred to a scene from a famous classic fantasy work. There was something else about the rings. As a tribute to the genre and for the composition of the image, I added a medieval shield at the gate. I hope you enjoy it!
